Back in the town of Sequim, the street fair will be in full swing. Stroll through food booths, sampling lavender chocolates, lavender ice cream, and lavender teas. Browse over 125 booths to learn about the newest lavender creations. Enjoy music and dancing on the main stage, and admire hours of painstaking work at the quilt show. The festival includes music, food demonstrations, crafts and of course plenty of lavender at more than 125 booths throughout the street fair at Lavender Central in Sequim.
This is one of the most popular times to take the ferry from Victoria BC to Port Angeles, WA. Let Victoria Express help make all your Olympic Peninsula travel arrangements, from transportation to lodging. This year, Victoria Express is offering 20th Anniversary $20 Round-trip tickets between Victoria and Port Angeles; you can't afford not to take advantage of it!
Fifteen years ago, eight farms in and around Sequim started planting lavender on a relatively large scale. The climate of Sequim is perfectly suited to growing lavender. More than 30 farms in the area grow it, make products, and supply various cottage industries with their beautifully scented products.
The Sequim Lavender Festival infuses the North Olympic Peninsula with a festive air. Wineries stay open late and for tours and wine tasting (definitely worth a visit). Local artists open their doors to the public for the Sequim Arts Studio Tour, also the weekend of July 16, 2010.
