A great hotel can enhance your vacation. With a good night's sleep, anything is possible: you have energy to visit museum after museum, explore the city, and enjoy outdoor activities.

There are many excellent hotels in Victoria BC to choose from, so it is easy to find one that meets your needs when you travel to Victoria. We wholeheartedly recommend the following Victoria BC hotels, most of which are close to the Victoria ferry terminal in the Inner Harbour:

Days Inn Victoria on the Harbour affords lovely views of the Inner Harbour. It is within walking distance to the Royal BC Museum, the IMAX theater, and the lovely Parliament Buildings. Walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown Victoria, or grab a drink in the Hotel Lounge and a bite to eat in the Swiftsure Restaurant. Start your day right with a dip in a heated pool (indoor and outdoor), and finish the day with a soak in the jacuzzi.

The Executive House Hotel is close to just about everything in Victoria: Miniature World, the Bug Zoo, and Cycle BC Rentals. Walk down the street to Pescatore's Fish House and Oyster Bay, or enjoy the seafood and steak restaurant on site. This European style boutique hotel is the ideal place to host your next corporate retreat - it has several meeting room facilities and an executive floor.

The Queen Victoria Hotel and Suites is steps away from the best of Victoria. Walk to Beacon Hill Park - ideal for an early morning run or evening stroll. Walk to the Royal BC Museum, shops, and the Inner Harbour. Or simply enjoy all the hotel has to offer: swimming, a fitness center, or spa services. Be sure to dine at least once at the delightful Samuel's By The Park restaurant.

The Strathcona Hotel is in the heart of downtown Victoria. Enjoy delicious pub fare at The Sticky Wicket Pub & Restaurant, or watch a game of volleyball on the rooftop deck. You may have so much fun at the Strathcona you'll need to schedule another trip to actually visit Victoria!

Victoria TravelLodge on the Gorge is located on the scenic Gorge Waterway, just outside of the heart of Victoria. It is ideal for lengthy stays, offering weekly and monthly rates and rooms with kitchen suites. Check out their Upper Deck for a variety of ongoing entertainment!

Travel to Victoria this summer and take advantage of the 20th Anniversary Special on Victoria Express - round trip tickets between Victoria, BC, and Port Angeles, WA, cost a mere $20. Now that's cause for celebration!

Spring is the perfect time for romantic getaways to Victoria. Take advantage of the Victoria Express 20th anniversary special, and travel round trip from Port Angeles to Victoria for only $20 ($10 one way). Our 2010 season starts May 28th.

There are so many fantastic hotels right in the heart of downtown Victoria that it can be hard to decide where to stay. Each one has something unique to offer guests. Read on for two examples.

The Hotel Grand Pacific offers live smooth jazz by pianist Jan Stirling on Friday and Saturday evenings. She is situated in the dining room, but you can also hear the music from the lounge, and it creates a lovely ambiance. Hotel Grand Pacific also offers a delicious West Coast Afternoon Tea, featuring wild salmon lox, smoked albacore, poached wild spot prawn brochettes, and truffles. Mmmm.

Traditional English Tea is a century-old tradition at the Fairmont Empress Hotel, overlooking Victoria's Inner Harbour. Pastry Chef D'Oyen Christie's creations will melt in your mouth. You'll want to explore Victoria, of course, but you may have trouble tearing yourself away from this luxurious hotel. Restore yourself in the spa. Enjoy a cocktail on the Veranda, and savor the amazing curry buffet in the Bengal Lounge.

It's not hard to think of reasons to visit Victoria. It is hard to come up with reasons to stay home. Don't bother trying - just call Victoria Express at 360-452-8088, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it today.

If you have ever been to Victoria, BC, you know that it is a city that loves to eat. Only one city in North America has more restaurants per capita than Victoria (San Francisco). A small city that can be easily explored by foot, Victoria is the ideal destination for a gustatory getaway.

The Seventh Annual Dine Around and Stay in Town event will take place from February 18 to March 7, 2010, in Victoria.

57 restaurants are participating in this year's event. They will offer three-course menus for $20, $30 or $40 CDN. To help make your meal complete, restaurants will suggest British Columbia Wines for each dish.

Here is an example of what you can expect for $20: Sips Artisan Bistro on Simcoe St. offers a choice of seafood chowder, organic greens or a spinach and blue cheese salad for an appetizer; and a local cheese plate, a charcuterie and cheese plate, or a local fish plate for an entree (suggested pairing: a 2007 Tinhorn Merlot). For dessert, enjoy Spinnakers truffles (paired with Quail's Gate L.H. Foch). Prices do not include beverages.

A complete list of participating restaurants and their menus is available at Dine Around and Stay in Town.

In order to encourage travelers to Victoria to stay longer and eat more, several excellent hotels are offering special pricing during this event: $69, $79, $99 and $129 per night. A complete list of accommodations is available at Dine Around and Stay in Town.
